Can you comb out your dreadlocks?

I am living proof that it is possible to comb out your dreadlocks.

It requires patients, dedication, and more patients. It took me about 3 weeks to finally comb it out.

You maybe wondering Why? But I want to be living proof of a True Natural Hair Journey. If I have to coach others on their journey,  I want to be impeccable. I want to speak solely from my own experience. I love my Natural Hair Journey because I learn so much along they way, even though I have been doing Natural Hair for about 15 years. There is nothing like walking through it myself.

When combing my locks, there were times I was ready to cut all the hair out. Twice I got nausea's and had to stop until the next day. The people around me could sense something was going on with my hair , because I never once covered it. I just two strand twisted each Lock I combed out and styled my hair. It wasn't until I combed it all out that my family really noticed what had been going on.

I have to admit combing my hair out after 12 years of locking cost me a sore head for three days.

My sister was a witness to my work and her words exactly were " I couldn't do it girl, I would have to cut all my hair out before sitting to comb it out."

Through my locking experience I had to acquire patients and combing it all out required even more patients than ever.

So patients, I defiantly do have that. I'm loving it.

Although I maybe locking again even sooner than I had thought. In the mean time and between time I plan on doing many of the styles I have posted on this site. Stick around and enjoy this journey with me.

Pixie Braids

What are Pixie Braids?

They single braids that  may vary in length and size, but what makes them different from other braids is, the way they are finished, with a bend at the ends. These braids don't just hang down straight, they are burnt at the ends and bent slightly to give them a shape towards the face.

Pixie Braids are very common during the summer months, because they give the individual a hair break for at least 2 months. Synthetic hair is used for these braids, so make sure you're not allergic to this type of hair before you put it in.

These braids offer flexibility and very little hair care. One can swim in them hassle free. You can get pixie braids regardless of what your hair texture is, as long as your hair is healthy and strong.

I recommend not to go past 2 and a half months wearing them, for this may cause breakage and hair damage to the hair line.

Always get a deep conditioner after wearing braids , to avoid excessive hair loss from tangled hair.

I'm a proud mother of a ten year old today!

I can't believe my son is ten years young now!

Wow seems that it was just the other day when I was carrying him in my arms. This makes me ponder on how fast the next decade will pass, so I promise myself to savour every day that I am blessed to be his mother and proudly watch how well he blossoms before my eyes.

I sewed the shirt he is wearing in this photo and he was so proud to wear it. I try and show my children that they can do what they want to do in this life time as long as they try their best.

Happy Birthday Son and may you be blessed with many more decades.
