Razaria's Journey from Perm to Dreadlock Extensions to Locs

  Here's another natural hair success story!

Razaria came to me with relaxed hair a little over a year ago. She wanted to make the transition to natural hair and decided that dreadlock extensions would be best for her. One year later, she decided to cut off the extensions and celebrate wearing her own shorter natural locs! How courageous she is! As difficult as it was each step of the way, emotionally, physically (self esteem), mentally -- Razaria still stepped out in faith and is loving each stage, every step of the way.

Here's what she had to say:

I have always had a love/hate relationship with my permed hair. On Wednesday, May 19, 2010, I started my hair journey towards wearing my hair as I truly desire. Through this journey, I have been fortunate to have Kirigo as my hair coach. Since starting this journey, I have finally felt at peace with hair with my hair. Every time I do something different to my hair or go through another phase on my journey, I fall in love with my hair all over again! In short, I truly LOVE my LOCS!!!

Natural Hair Journey is MOVING to Baltimore!

Dear Valued Natural Hair Journey Customers,

As some of you may have already heard, I am getting married next month. My fiancé Kumasi and I are excited and blessed to embark on this life journey together. As part of this new chapter in my life, my children, Moja and Santina, and I will be relocating back to Baltimore this summer, and Natural Hair Journey will be moving as well.

During the wedding, combining of households, and salon relocation, Natural Hair Journey will be closed for hair services during the month of July. Hair appointments at our current location in Bowie are available until June 24. We will reopen for business at the new Baltimore location on August 5.

During this transition, all appointments must be scheduled online at our web site. Telephone and email appointments will not be available. It is strongly recommended that you reserve your appointment early to ensure availability. I apologize for any inconvenience and I thank you for your patience during this transition.

My customers have been the lifeblood of my business since day one. I do realize that for some of you, the salon moving north will represent an inconvenience. I thank you for sticking it out with me and hope that your beautiful, healthy hair and the high-quality services you receive from Natural Hair Journey will make it worth the additional driving time. For some others, I understand that you will not be able to take this part of the journey with me. I wish to thank you for your support and well wishes, and for allowing me to take care of you through your hair.

What are Brotherlocks?

Brother locks (or Brotherlocks), are the male version of the Sisterlocks hair style. They require the same technique, however they are slightly larger than Sisterlocks.

 

They are growing in popularity with men, and I just find them so beautiful.

This customer is wearing his Brotherlocks in what is called a crossover style. He was going to a job interview and wanted a more conservative look for the occasion. (He got the job!)

Long Sis Twists

I have recently been asked by several women if you can wear the Sis Twists long.

The answer is YES however, it requires more synthetic hair and it definitely costs more.

Which one do you like? Long, short or medium?
