Not sure if you read or heard about this story in Tulsa, OK. A Little Girl's Rights and a Father's Pride
A 7-year old girl was sent home because her locks violated the school's dress code policy. Understandably, her parents pulled her out of that school and even after the school decided to change the policy, they have chosen not to re-enroll her.
Just imagine the message that this sends to this young girl and all of the children at the school. That the natural state of their hair and styles that enhance that are not "acceptable."
Her father, who is a barber, said "I take pride in my kids looking nice."
This just goes to show that transitioning to natural is not just a journey for the man, woman, or child who is going through it but also for our society as well.
What do you think???
